The Philosophy
of Liberty |

The
Libertarian Platform states the following:
"We
defend each person's right to engage in any activity
that is peaceful and honest, and welcome the diversity
that freedom brings. The world we seek to build is
one where individuals are free to follow their own
dreams in their own ways, without interference from
government or any authoritarian power."
What
does this mean to you as a GLBT taxpayer in Arizona,
USA? Below are some specific positions on issues related
to social, economic, domestic, and foreign policy. Or
check out the full text of the party platform here. |
Social
Policy:

 |
|
Consistent
with our philosphy's emphasis on personal liberty, our
ideas about social policy are characterized by a "live
and let live" mentality.
This
makes the party a unique home for the gay community,
who for so long has had to fight for its place within
the two major parties. |
Economic
Policy:

 |
|
Economic
policy in a libertarian world is based on the concept
of the free market as the engine that drives our progress
as a society.
With
our focus on individual liberties, this translates into
"laissez-faire" policies that seek to maximize
the potential of each individual in the system.
We
also advocate the abolition of the income tax as an
unconstitutional coercion of private wealth. |
Domestic
Policy:

 |
|
We
view immigration as a victimless crime and call for
an end to the insanity of the current policy.
We
advocate an immediate end to wasteful "pork"
spending that serves only to enrich the elite.
As
a violation of both personal and economic liberty, the
Drug War is both unjust and unwinnable. We also call
for an end to this failed prohibition. |
Foreign
Policy:

 |
|
Our
forefathers believed in non-interventionism for a reason,
and we think this was wise. Recent history makes quite
clear that no good can come of foreign entanglements. |
